Brand New Blog Indexed By Google In 6 Hours

Truth be told, it was a lot less than 6 hours. Most of that time was spent building the blog.

Yesterday, I found a new product that I wanted to promote (not internet marketing).

So, I uploaded a new WordPress blog, with a subdomain by using Fantastico (most hosting services provide this for free).

Then I spent about 30 minutes finding a WordPress Theme that I liked and uploaded it.

Next, I optimized the blog by adding some plugins (Install SEO WordPress Video Tutorial).

I installed the Google Adsense Plugin.

I then found an article from from the product owner and posted it to my blog.

I added a banner advertising the product and an Aweber form (for readers to sign up for a free 5 part ecourse).

Uploaded a picture to the blog.

I found 11 tags (long tail keywords) by using SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool. I chose keywords that had only 3 to 7 searches daily.

I added my RSS feed to Bloglines , Feedage, Feedbite, & Feeds2Read.

I then bookmarked the article page (click on article title) by using Social Marker.

I only bookmarked to 9 sites:

Propeller, Digg, MyJeeves, Google, Slashdot, Technorati, Stumbleupon, Reddit, & Mixx.

And Presto, a few hours later:

1/ I was indexed in Google (all 11 tags)

2/ 100 unique visitors

3/ 1 comment on a brand new blog (how they found it so fast is a mystery)

    That’s amazing and encouraging to see that you can get indexed and get that many visitors that fast. Which part do you think was the most important? Is Social Marker the one that helped you get this?

    Digg & Mixx are probably the 2 most important factors to getting indexed quickly.
    Actually, since I wrote this I am getting indexed much faster.
